Silent Film
During 1921, actress Alice Lake, with the film Uncharted Seas (Wesley Ruggles) knudged in between the battle for covergirl transpiring between Viola Dana and May Allison, both for Metro Pictures Corporation. Priscilla Dean stayed on the periphery of the dogfight with her film Reputation for Universal Jewel Deluxe. From the advertising of 1927 for the film White Gold, actress Jetta Goudal seemed a sensation. The direction of William K Howard was reviewed as "distinctive". The Film Daily wrote, "His method of creating atmosphere appropriate to the action, while not relatively new, is most effective. The monotonous creaking of a rocker, the dreary routine of the sickening desert heat, all these and more, creating detail, makes his efforts outstanding." The photoplay was scripted by Garret Fort with scenario writer Marion Orth. Scott Lord Silent Film

Scott Lord Silent Film Magazine Cover Art
Scott Lord Silent Film
I am revising my web pages on silent film, particularly after having begun reading two very seminal textbooks, Film Until Now, by Paul Rotha and Scandinavian Film, by Forsyth Hardy. There is always the possibility that a third textbook will be with my material on Silent Film Magazine cover art, so during coffee breaks I'm glancing through full page magazine advertisements that act as movie posters.
Meanwhile, if you check my blogs, I'll be spending some of the end of the summer on the ocean and have a little time before we'll be there. It will be near where the poem The Wreck of the Hesperus, by Longfellow, takes place- last year we had a romantic moonlight walk near the house of a painter, Fitz Hugh Lane, after having had dinner.

Woman to Woman (1929) The new old film for which I have to make time
This fascinates me. I will generally watch anything like it and there are several Basil Rathbone films from before 1936 that I would still like to watch again. Anything from this studio could be intriguing. I just can't guarantee for how long any You Tube video will exist.
Please wait for my review.

"My name is Victoria Winters."
Please meet Victoria Winters on her arrival at Collinwood. Through the magic of radio; of course, this is 1966. Apparently she has a cousin from England, who always loved Collinwood, near Widow's Hill.

Is this a lost silent film?
Picture Stories Magazine (Volume 3) Sept 1914-F...:
'via Blog this'
Its my belief that this in fact could be a lost silent film. Please visit the above link.
This film, The Riddle of the Green Umbrella with Alice Joyce "from the two reel Kalem detective story, could also be a "lost film": I have not yet found any quickly available record of it.
Picture Stories Magazine advertised itself on the front cover as being the Illustrated Films Monthly during 1914 and 1915.
